Veterinary nurse Lyn Witts created Pawtential Family Dog Training on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and beyond, in order to meet the needs of pet owners seeking gentle, dog-friendly help for their four legged family members.

Lyn’s passion for helping families and their pets began in 1987 when she embarked on her career as a veterinary nurse. Her skill and dedication was rewarded in 1996 when she won the NSW division of the Nursing Practice Excellence Award, a nationwide award program recognising professional distinction.

In order to gain the very best experience, advice and training, Lyn attended puppy classes run by one of Australia's leading veterinary behaviourists, Dr Kersti Seksel.

Lyn subsequently became a member of the Delta Society - a global organisation dedicated to improving the human-animal bond – and undertook further study to secure Certificate IV in Dog Behavioural Training (Canine Good Citizen). This course sets world-class standards in canine training and behaviour, with graduates skilled in educating clients in canine behaviour, management, health care, training and handling.

Lyn is also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia*.

*Members of the APDT and the Delta Society are bound by a strict code of ethics and united in their training methods and philosophy. Both these organisations assist trainers in keeping skills and knowledge updated by providing conferences, seminars and libraries, as well as a network of trainers and veterinary behaviourists on hand for advice and support.
